What kinds of devices are you accepting?
Through the trees is accepting your used cell phones, tablets, or laptops.  We currently are not in need of printers.

What will you do with my donated device?
We wipe and refurbish all donated devices.  Then, they are distributed to people within Transylvania who could use the device.  Your device will have a second life, directly helping someone in your community.

What about security and any data left on my donated device?
Our refurbishing for donated computers is very thorough.  The first step removes your personal account.  The second step takes a good while since the entire hard drive is overwritten and any left over data is completely wiped out.

Do I need to do anything to prepare my device for donation?
It's best if your device comes with an appropriate charger.  Don't worry though, a charger isn't needed.  It's best if you know how to log into your device as many brands require you to log in prior giving it to a refurbisher.

If I can't make it to the drive during the designated time, can I drop my device off early?
Unfortunately, since many brands require the current owner to log as the first step in the refurbishing process, we prefer that you be there to hand it off to us.   If you can't make it, we'd still love to collect your device.  Simply email us at yvette@throughthetrees.us and we'll coordinate a time that works well for you.
